Cancer Research Benefit - Basketball Scrimmage

Madison Middle School Gym

On Monday, December 6th the Madison boys and girls basketball teams will be holding a pre-season scrimmage in the Middle School gym at 7pm.

This event will benefit cancer research and showcase the basketball talent at MHS. The admission price for the event will be a free will donation to the Lake County Relay for Life in collaboration with Coaches vs. Cancer.

Coaches vs. Cancer is connected to the American Cancer Society. In 1993 it was made a nationwide event to help raise cancer awareness and promote healthy living. High schools, Division I, II & III colleges are participating in this nationwide event. Every day people are working towards thinking of new fundraisers to raise funds, recruit new coaches, and to help fight the battle of cancer.

Because cancer has touched so many of our nation’s basketball coaches, Coaches vs. Cancer offers them a unique opportunity to fight the disease. Through integrated fundraising activities and public awareness campaigns, participating coaches are truly making a difference in the fight against cancer and are raising awareness in their communities about the importance of cancer prevention, early detection, and making healthy lifestyle choices.

All of the proceeds raised at the game will be benefiting the Lake County Relay for Life which is held in June. The event will feature 3 inter-squad scrimmages starting at 7 p.m. on December 6th with the junior varsity boys, followed by a varsity girls and a varsity boys.
