Wednesday, April 12

Spring has arrived! And as a result crop dusters everywhere are preparing their aircraft for the season.

Riggin Flight Service will be hosting the South Dakota Aviation Association Spring Fly-In at the Madison Municipal Airport on Wednesday, April 12 beginning at sunrise. This is an all-day, free to the public event.

The fly-in will give area pilots the opportunity to test the accuracy and evenness of distribution of the spray nozzles on his plane in an effort to control spray drift through professional analysis of spray application.

Jim Wilson, a retired leader of the SDSU Plant Science Pesticide Applicator Certification Program is a certified analyst with Operation SAFE and will be on hand to analyze test pattern results for each pilot.

All are welcomed to come out and observe the festivities.
