Madison School District Hires School Resource Officer

The Madison Police Department has announced that Officer Ben Gant has been appointed as the department’s School Resource Officer. He is scheduled to begin his duties in January 2015. The SRO position was made possible through the partnership of the City of Madison, Lake County and Madison Central. Superintendent Vince Schaefer said the district is very excited to have the position available to assist and guide students, staff and families of our community.

Officer Gant has been employed with the department since April of 2013. Prior to that he was employed with the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office for 5 years. He is married with one child.
