The DSU Baseball Team will be holding the First Pitch To Heroes Banquet to fundraise for and recognize the 211th Engineer Company of the South Dakota National Guard from Madison and Big Paws, a Foundation that trains service, companion, and therapy dogs for injured veterans.
Our keynote speaker will be Jerry Schemmel, a Madison native and current radio voice of the Colorado Rockies. There will also be a military tribute video, a demonstration/speech from Big Paws, and a representative from the 211th will also speak.
Jerry has a very special story as he survived the 1989 Sioux City plane crash and also went into the wreckage to rescue an 11 month old baby girl. There are several “smaller” items and we have 14 BIG TICKET items up for auction.
