DSU’s First Bank & Trust gallery located in the Mundt Library on the DSU campus is exhibiting the artwork of Carol Heft from now until Saturday, October 25.
Carol Heft began studying painting with American master Robert Brackman, when she was twelve years old. She received her undergraduate degree from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1976. In her early years in New York City, Carol had a number of solo exhibitions including Gallery 120, the Pene Dubois Gallery, and Ten Worlds Gallery. More recently, her work has been shown at the Washington Art Association, Washington Depot, CT., The Dubois Gallery at Lehigh University, The Fairleigh Dickenson University College Gallery, the Blue Mountain Gallery in New York, and most recently in 2014 a solo exhibition in Mattera Italy, curated by Pino Nicolletti. Her work has been included in many juried shows in Europe, South America, and around the United States.
Carol teaches drawing, painting, and art history in New York City and in the Lehigh Valley in Pennsylvania. She has worked as an artist and mentor with arts in education programs in New York City, working directly with teachers and students in public schools. Ms. Heft also has a background working with individuals with disabilities and particular interest in developing special-education art programs.
