Jessica Fjerstad

MadisonSD.com is proud to sponsor Jessica Fjerstad as she competes in triathlons across South Dakota.

Jessica is a 23-year-old from Madison, SD. She graduated from the University of South Dakota with a BA in Political Science, and a minor in Criminal Justice. Jessica will begin her first year of law school this August. She enjoys spending time outdoors, taking part in activities such as water and snow skiing, biking, running, and hiking with her two dogs. She relaxes with yoga, music, and reading.

Jessica was solely a distance runner for several years before getting involved with triathlons. After injuries forced her to give up competitive running, she started searching for a new path to direct her competitive spirit. One year ago, Jessica completed her first triathlon. With two-thirds of her time spent swimming and biking, Jessica is able to keep injuries away while traveling around the Midwest participating in triathlons. Jessica is joined by her significant other, Matthew Nipe, during much of her triathlon training.
