Wilcox Farm & Johnson Farms

The Johnson Farm is a 2,400-acre certified organic operation & 175-head cow-calf herd of Angus and Gelbvieh cross cows. The Wilcox Farm includes a small cow-calf operation and a 350-head finishing lot as well as corn, oats and alfalfa fields. It has been fully organic for 10 years. Registration - 8:00 a.m. at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. Identifying Issues Extension & Ag Educators Need to Know About Organic Ag Production - 8:30 a.m. Tour Johnson Farms - 9:00 a.m. Wilcox Farm tour -10:30 a.m. Organic lunch served at the church. -12:15 -1:00 p.m. Part II of the Johnson Farms tour - 1:00 p.m. Managing Obstacles in Organic Production (panel discussion) - 2:15-3:30 p.m. Marketing/Equipment Sharing (panel discussion) - 3:45 p.m.- 5:00 p.m. Supper at Nicky’s in Madison (on your own) 5:30 p.m. Pre-Registration before July 7 for a $10 discount is $30/family for NPSAS members, (limit 6) $40 per/family for non-members. All registrations include one adult meal, snacks and beverages. Additional meals can be purchased for $8 for adults and $5 for children age 6 to 12. Children five and under eat free.
