The City of Madison has scheduled this year’s annual citywide cleanup for May 13th - 16th. The city will be divided into four sections with Egan Avenue and North 2nd/3rd Street being the dividing streets.
Monday will be the southwest section
Tuesday will be the northwest section
Wednesday will be the northeast
Thursday will be the southeast section
Any items not picked up in a section that were out on the day scheduled, will be collected the next day. Once a section has been completed, crews will not return.
Residents are urged to place items curbside before their scheduled day but not
more than 48 hours prior to pickup.
Items that will NOT be picked up include:
- Appliances
- Batteries
- Paint/Stains/Varnish
- Hot Water Heaters
- Metals: swing sets, clothes line poles, etc.
- Leaves, Trees or Branches
- Hazardous Materials/Solvents/Waste Oils
- Recyclables
- #1 & #2 Plastics, Tin, Steel & Aluminum
- Newspaper/Junk Mail, Magazines, Catalogs
- Cardboard & Chipboard
- Office Paper
- Electronic Devices
- Household Garbage
In an effort to control mosquitoes, passenger car and truck tires will
be picked up during citywide cleanup. Only eight tires per household
maximum and tires must be removed from the rim.
