The Ghostlight Players will be presenting Neil Simon’s classic comedy “The Odd Couple” on Friday, August 16 and Saturday, August 17 at the Lawrence Welk Opera House on the campus of the Historic Prairie Village.
Curtain time is 8:00 pm and tickets may be purchased at the door ($12 adults/$9 students).
An ever-popular community and professional theater offering, “The Odd Couple” has over the years seen many adaptations including as full-length feature films and a prime time ABC television series which featured Jack Klugman and Tony Randall in the roles of Oscar Madison and and Felix Unger. The show’s plot revolves around the divorce (and pending divorce) of the lead characters and their attempts to share an apartment in spite of significant personality differences.
The Ghostlight Players is a Freeman-based theatre organization whose membership is drawn predominantly from people who are tied to the community’s annual Schmeckfest celebration. Its intent is to produce 2 to 3 shows a year and tour these to area communities. Last year Ghostlight offered a production of the comedy “Greater Tuna” at Prairie Village.
