This year South Dakota celebrates our Quasquicentennial, and one artist, Altman Studeny, has incorporated soil taken from each county in South Dakota and has planted sixty-six bur oak trees in a mix of that soil. Now, Altman is returning to Madison and the Gerry Maloney Nature Area ( N. Harth Ave. off NE 9th Street) to help plant our tree. Join us as we celebrate our 125th year of statehood with Altman and our community. Light refreshments will be served, and an artist talk about this project will be presented as well.
