MADISON, S.D. – A new Web site has been introduced to the Madison community. CommissionSoup redeveloped www.MadisonSD.com to strengthen awareness of the Madison area and provide up-to-date information to local citizens. Darin Namken, President of CommissionSoup, unveiled the first phase of the new site Thursday night at the annual CommissionSoup Holiday Social.
MadisonSD.com formerly existed as a basic Web site with general information about the community. The newly designed site is a detailed guide including the history of Madison, relocation resources, education information, a calendar of events, business directory, photo gallery and more. It is a one-stop resource for tourists, business prospects and local citizens alike.
“We have designed this site to promote Madison and the many offerings that make it exceptional as a tourist attraction, business community and place to live,” said Namken. “The internet is typically the first place people turn when planning vacations, researching locations and finding events. The internet provides the tools to make informed decisions and we are excited about the increased exposure MadisonSD.com will give our community.”
MadisonSD.com is also a tool for Madison area residents. It provides information on upcoming events, local news, weather and a detailed guide to local businesses. The calendar of events will be an all-inclusive source letting people know what’s going on in the area so they can participate. All organizations will be invited to submit their events for review for inclusion in the calendar. The directory will provide information on local businesses and services. All businesses are encouraged to submit their information for inclusion. Information is posted at www.MadisonSD.com.
MadisonSD.com also serves those looking to visit or relocate to Madison. It is a marketing tool encouraging them to “Discover the Unexpected” as well as a guide to finding attractions, restaurants, events and relocation resources. All of Madison’s educational opportunities will be highlighted as well as the unique activities available in the area such as hunting, camping, museums and more.
With Madison recently launching a campaign to increase tourism, MadisonSD.com will supplement these efforts. Advertisements and promotional material will direct visitors to MadisonSD.com to learn more. The Web site incorporates the new slogan “Discover the Unexpected” by highlighting both the popular and unknown attractions Madison offers.
“We are marketing this site extensively on the internet to ensure it is the first place people go when looking for information about Madison,” said Namken. “We want this site to make a positive impact on the community as well as serve as a one-stop resource for those already living here. MadisonSD.com is the perfect homepage for the latest scores, current weather, local news and other information you search for daily.”
CommissionSoup hosts, manages and markets the Web site. MadisonSD.com will be built in phases. CommissionSoup is dedicated to building the new MadisonSD.com throughout 2007. New content and features will be added regularly to provide the most comprehensive source possible. Staff will update the calendar as events are submitted and work to ensure all information stays current and relevant.
