Recycling Changes Coming in Madison

There will be some changes in the Madison Recycling Program in the next few months, After the installation of some new equipment at the recycling center.

Public Works Director Heath Voneye says the city will be receiving a new bailer, and in a couple of months a new sort conveyor will be installed.

When those changes are made Voneye says there will probably be some changes in what can be recycled in Madison, but for now, he says it will stay the same.

Voneye says the recycling center will still not take the tops of platic bottles.

Recycling pickups in Madison are:

  • First and third Wednesdays for East of Egan Avenue

  • Second and fourth Wednesdays for West of Egan Avenue

The Recycling Center at 800 Southwest 7th is open Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
