Economy and Possible Tight Budgets Weigh on Committee

Madison school Superintendent Vince Schaefer says the committee dealing with School District facilities isn't moving very rapidly as it considers issues at the 43-year-old High School Building.
Schaefer says the downturn in the economy and the possibility of a tight budget are slowing the committee's work.
Last Fall the school board received a report from an architectural firm which pointed out several areas that need attention in the high school building.
Schaefer says the needs of schools have changed since the building was built including the need to be handicap accessible. Drainage, the roof and fire code issues are among the problems at the building.
