Fargen Responds to Governor's Proposed Budget

District 8 State Representative Mitch Fargen says Governor Rounds is attacking Education with his most recent proposal for a fiscal 2010 state budget proposal.

Among other things the Governor proposes to end special state aid for school districts in sparsely populated areas and those with rapid growth or rapid declining enrollments.

The Governor also proposes to close the School for the Deaf.

Fargen says there are other places to find money in an emergency.

Fargen says he won't vote for anything that makes cuts in education. He says he needs to study the proposed budget in detail.
