Scouts Collect Food & Eyeglasses

Plastic bags will be handed out in Madison neighborhoods this Saturday October 20th as a part of the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts Scouting for Food and Sight Drive. Food and used eyeglasses can be placed in the bag and left on your porch by 9AM on Saturday October 27th.

Cub Scout Packs 5 and 255 will be participating. The Sioux Council Boy Scouts of America is partnering with the Eastern South Dakota and Southwest Minnesota Lions Clubs to collect the used eyeglasses along with non-perishable foods. The Lions Clubs will clean and repair the eyeglasses, which will then help needy citizens around the world.

Last year, Sioux Council Scouts collected over 135,000 items of food for local food banks, and over 3,300 pairs of eyeglasses were also collected.

Madison Scouts will be going door-to-door on Saturday October 27th to collect the items.
