Madison Voters Say 'Yes' to $3.5 Million Outdoor Pool

Madison voters said yes at the polls yesterday to build a news $3.5 million outdoor swimming pool at Westside Park. The committee putting together the proposal spend 2 years in the research and development process, but Madison Aquatics Coordinator Carol Shaver says this is just the beginning.

Included in the $3.5 million price tag is a new bathhouse, public restrooms, a mechanical building and 200 more square feet of swimming space. Shaver says the number of yes votes speak for themselves.

Shaver says a lot of people helped to make the pool possible.

Construction will begin in the spring with completion set before the summer of 2009.
