Interlakes Community Action Partnership continues to help people who have been laid off or are working reduced hours due to the nationwide economic downturn.
Housing coordinator Kristen Reese says she is sometimes able to work with a person with reduced income and their lender to get a reduced mortgage payment.
In some cases, Reese says, she has been able to help people work with lenders to temporarily cut mortgage payments in half.
She says it is important for people who have experienced a layoff or reduced hours to talk with their lenders to see what can be worked out.
