Legislative Requests

Senator Russ Olson says he is glad legislators are able to request and receive information from state agencies without artificial barriers.

Governor Mike Rounds had ordered state agencies, under his control, not to release information to a legislator without knowing who had made the request.

Olson says the Governor reversed the order after receiving a letter from Senate Majority Leader Dave Knudson. Olson represents Legislative District 8 and serves on the Senate State Affairs Committee.
