Sting Catches Two

Two Madison businesses that sell alcohol, failed the test when Madison police checked for compliance with laws dealing with age and alcohol purchases.

Police Chief Chuck Pulford says Classic Corner and the Ampride failed to check identification when when a 19-year-old informant purchased alcohol Wednesday night.

Pulford says all 13 Madison businesses selling Alcohol were checked and the other 11 all checked for proper identification.

Pulford says the employees who failed to check the IDs were cited for selling alcohol to people between the ages of 18 and 21.

Pulford says his department conducts such checks periodically, and two failures out of 13 businesses isn't bad.

He says there have been times that 30% of the businesses failed the checks.
