Two candidates have now filed petitions for nomination for Madison City Commission.
Karen Lembcke filed petitions with Madison City Finance Office Tuesday afternoon joining Mike McGowan who filed earlier. Lembcke is finishing two terms and says she would like a third term.
She says the City of Madison has a lot going on and she says she would like at least one more term to see some of it through.
Lemcke currently serves as the public safety commissioner in charge of the police department and the fire department. She also serves on the housing committee for the Lake Area Improvement Corporation, the Local Emergency Planning Committee, the 9-1-1 board and the planning commission.
The seat left vacant by the resignation of Dan Bohl and the seat currently held by Lembcke are up for election this year.
Potential candidates have until 5 p.m. on February 27th to file petitions for nomination. The Madison City-School election is scheduled April 14th.
