Carthage Break-ins

Miner County authorities are investigating a string of early Tuesday morning break-ins in Carthage.

Deputy Rob Egert of the Miner County Sheriff's Office says a burglar or burglars pried the windows open at the Caberet, the Prairie Inn and Don's Place, took candy, cigarettes, change from some of the machines and cash registers, and in one case, took some alcohol.

Egert says while the registers were broken into, none of the bills were taken just change.

He says the break-ins occurred after 1:00a.m. He says the businesses are still trying to determine how much money was taken.

Egert says some finger prints and a shoe print have been recovered.

He says the burglaries are still under investigation.
