Artists in Schools and Communities

Literature students at Madison Central High School are writing, creating, reading and acting with resident artist Linda Bruning this week.
It's part of the South Dakota Arts Council's Artists in Schools and Communities program, cosponsored by the Madison Area Arts Council.
Bruning says she doesn't educate future actors and artists as much as she educates future citizens in critical thinking and speaking in public.
She says performances will dominate the last day of the week for her residency.
Bruning is a graduate of Yankton College and has acted, directed, and conducted theater residencies across Canada and the United States.
She has presented workshops at the Perpich Center and she wrote the theater curriculum for the North Dakota Arts Council's Lewis and Clark Touring Arts Trunk.
She lives in the Twin Cities.
