Fire at Farmers Elevator

The Madison fire department responded to an early morning fire at the Madison Farmers Elevator early Monday.

Fire Chief Jerry Johnson says the fire was in a grain dryer. The exact cause of the fire is not known at this time.

Johnson says about two-thirds of the dryer will have to be replaced.

He says firefighters were on the scene from about 5:25 to 8:30 Monday morning.

He says the dollar amount of the damage is not known at this time. There were no injuries.
