Capital Outdlay Money Could Be Used For Operating

The House of Representatives has given its approval to Senator Russ Olson's legislation to allow school districts to have the flexibility to spend money intended for construction of buildings and making major equipment purchases, for utilities and other operating expenses in tough times.

The bill would allow school districts to use up to 45% of their capital outlay funds for operating expenses for three years. The legislation has already been approved by the Senate.
