Madison to Receive Stimulus for Street Projects

The City of Madison will receive $148,533 in federal stimulus funds from the state Department of Transportation for road and street projects.

The Madison City Commission accepted the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act letter from the state DOT.

In response City Engineer Chad Comes, recommended that the Commission place the funds into the City's surface transporation fund account with other state transportation funds.

The Commission agreed with Comes and authorized Comes and the mayor to inform the Department of Transportation of the Commission's decision.
