Lake & Minnehaha Counties Targeted in Sobriety Checkpoints

Lake and Minnehaha Counties will be included in sobriety checkpoints that are being held this month. Twelve other counties will also be targeted. Those counties include Beadle, Bennett, Brown, Clay, Custer, Davison, Hughes, Jerauld, Lawrence, Lincoln, Pennington, and Tripp.

Law enforcement uses the sobriety checkpoints to alert drivers about the dangers of drinking and driving as well as detecting alcohol and drug impaired motorists.
