Opportunity Scholarship Improvaements...Next Year
Posted on Tuesday, March 31, 2009
The 2009 South Dakota Legislature has ended, but Representative Mitch Fargen is looking to the next session.
Fargen says Regents Executive Tad Perry told him he wanted to work with Fargen on the legislation to improve the Opportunity Scholarship Program.
Fargen's bill allows some scheduling flexibility for students who are recipients of the scholarship.
Perry is retiring, so for that reason and due to tight budgets caused in part by an economic downturn, Fargen says he decided to wait until next year to bring it forward.
Fargen serves on the House Education and the House Commerce Committees.
