Farmers Ag Center Gets Rebate

Farmers Ag Center is the recipient of a $10,000 electric rebate as part of the Heartland Consumers Power District Growth Incentive Program.

The rebate is based on percentages of Farmers Ag Centers additional power consumption to date since late 2007. Farmers Ag also received nearly eight thousand dollars in Heartland Hiring Incentives in 2007 and 2008.

Farmers Ag Center operates on an eight-million dollar facility and sells seed, fertilizer, chemical custom applications and crop scouting services with 16 full-time and two part-time employees.

The Growth Incentive Program is designed to help stimulate development within Heartland Customer communities by rewarding qualifying companies with a rebate on the retail electric power bills for three years.

Rebate amounts are determined by calculating 50 percent of a company's electric consumption in its first year, 35 percent in its second year and 20 percent in its third year.
