Man shot and killed in Brookings

BROOKINGS, S.D. (AP) - Police say a 23-year-old man was shot and killed Thursday morning in Brookings.

Authorities say the shooting occurred shortly before 2 a.m. during a break-in at a home.

Police say Bradley Joe Odens died at the Brookings hospital after being shot inside the home of a 28-year-old man.

According to police, Odens may have been confused as to where he was and continued to force his way into the home after being warned by the resident.

Police say a handgun was used. No arrests have been made, and an investigation continues.
