Heartland Celebrates Rural Water Move to Madison

As Heartland Consumers Power District anticipates a move later this year to a new headquarters building in Madison's Lakeview Industrial Park, the district is celebrating helping to bring another organization to Madison.

On Friday Heartland General Manager Mike McDowell signed the agreement for the South Dakota Association of Rural Water Systems to purchase Heartland's existing building, allowing the Association to move from Sioux Falls to Madison.

Heartland's new facility is registered to attain Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Certified Platinum status with the United States Green Building Council.

It will be the first of its kind in the state of South Dakota.
