City Commission Meets

The Madison City Commission authorized the Mayor to sign an agreement with Geotek Engineering for geotechnical exploration for work on the alleys in the downtown area.
The work will cost $2,100.
The Commission approved electrical licenses for Barger Electric and Perry Electric.
The Commission took no action Monday evening on a request to change an ordinance that prohibits parking a vehicle on the street in Madison for more than 24-hours.
The request came from Craig Miller who cleaned off his vehicle but did not move it within 24-hours after a snow storm on April 4th and 5th.
After cleaning off his pickup, and not moving it, he found a ticket on it when he went to work the next morning.
Some towns have 48-hour ordinances, even five day ordinances.
The commission will likely decide later whether to amend the Madison parking ordinance.
