Severe Weather Preparedness Week

This is Severe Weather Preparedness Week in South Dakota.

Christie Turman heads the state Division of Emergency Management in Pierre.

She says she hopes people across the state will take some time plan for a disaster such as a tornado, knowing where the safe places are and planning for getting loved ones back together if they are separated in the disaster.

Simulated tornado watches and tornado warnings were conducted in Madison and communities across the state Wednesday.
