Need to Keep Workers in Madison
Posted on Monday, April 27, 2009
Madison Food Pantry President Jeff Nelson says at some point the economy is going to recover and industrial plants that have laid off workers in Madison will need those workers again.
Nelson says it is important, among other things to support the food pantry to help keep those workers in Madison for that better time.
Nelson says so far contributions and support for the food pantry are keeping up with increased demands placed on it by the downturn.
Nelson says demand for food from the food pantry in the first quarter of 2009 is up 60% when compared to the same period last year.
