Empty Buckets and Tires

Madison Park and Recreation Director Ted LaFleur is asking area residents to empty buckets, tires and other items that hold water to eliminate breeding areas for mosquitoes.
LaFleur says even some moving water provides an opportunity for mosquitoes to reproduce.
He says West Nile Virus doesn't seem to be as serious a threat as it was a few years ago, but should still be avoided.
LaFleur says he has been checking ponds and standing water, and it appears we'll start seeing mosquitoes in a week or so.
He says to avoid mosqitoes avoid being outside early in the morning and, at dusk in the evening, wear long sleeved shirts and use repellent.
