JMS Precision to Close in Madison May 28

The JMS Precision operation in Madison is closing next week.
A letter to vendors of the company from company president Randy Pickrel says, "In an attempt to continue to offer cost competitive pricing, without compromising quality of service, J-M-S Precision Inc has elected to discontinue operations in its Madison South Dakota Facility."
The letter goes on to indicate all operational and support functions for the company will be conducted at its Watertown facility.
Office Manager Carrie Mennis says employees got the word earlier this month and some of the company's seven workers were given the option to transfer to Watertown.
Mennis says the slowdown at Gehl and other customers is the reason for the closure in Madison.
She says it is understood that Gehl will eventually come back, but she says the front office waited for eight months and decided it couldn't hold out any longer.
