Posted on Tuesday, October 23, 2007
The South Dakota Retailers Association is partnering with the South Dakota Network Against Family Violence and Sexual Assault to present two free seminars on the topic of domestic violence, how it impacts the workplace, and the policies and procedures that employers should have for dealing with potential situations involving violence. The programs will be held in Madison on November 6, and in Winner on November 7.
Shawn Lyons, Executive Director of the South Dakota Retailers Association says that domestic violence can have a major impact on the workplace, so it's important for employers to learn more about the issue, and what their role should be.
The seminars will be held from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 6 at the Second Street Diner in Madison, and from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 7 at the Holiday Inn Express in Winner.
The presenters at the programs will include a representative from the South Dakota Network Against Family Violence and Sexual Assault, law enforcement personnel who are experienced in dealing with domestic violence issues, and an attorney who will address legal issues pertaining to employers.
