Harvest Expected To Get Back Underway Today in Moody Co.

Harvest was brought to a halt last Saturday, when rain began falling. On Thursday when the rain finally ceased, farmers were left with drenched fields and more time to sit and wait. Moody County Extension Agronomist Paul Johnson says farmers hope to be back in corn fields by today, and soybean fields by Thursday.

But, Johnson says even though producers are getting back at it, they need to use caution when getting out there.

Johnson also states that aflatoxins should also be a concern for farmers, especially with the damp weather lately.

Johnson says farmers need to get testing done before they get rid of their corn at the elevator, for insurance purposes.

Aflatoxins havent affected the area for 4 to 5 years according to Johnson.
