The US Department of Agriculture will provide $420,725 to Brookings County to restore the Big Sioux River floodplain.
The funding is from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.
The funding will be used to improve the wildlife habitat, restore 25 acres of wetland and re-establish vegetation hurt by the recent flooding.
The stimulus package signed by President Obama focused on tax cuts for the middle class, infrastructure investments and job creation.
