Lewis & Clark Regional Water System, Request More Water Rights
Posted on Wednesday, October 24, 2007
The Lewis & Clark Regional Water System is applying for more water rights. They have an application with the state for 8700 acre feet of water which would be pumped from their well fields south of Vermillion.
Lewis & Clark Executive Director Troy Larson says this is the second half of the water they need.
Larson says the water is there, they just need to finish the paper work.
Larson says the extra water rights are needed because of the upsizing of their proposed water treatment plant.
Larson gave an update on the project, which is expected to be finished in 2019, at Monday evening’s Madison City Commission meeting
