City Commission Meets

The Madison City Commission acknowledged the building permit report totaling nearly $4,959,000 worth of projects.

The list includes a $2.4-million dollar project of Nextera Property LLC for James River Equipment and $2.47-million dollars for the Heartland Consumer Power District office building.

The Commission scheduled a hearing on an ordinance providing for permits for consumption of alcohol in public places in the City of Madison.

The Commission authorized the mayor to sign a certificate of substantial completion for the aquatic Center.

City Engineer Chad Commes says the certificate means the facility is ready to use.
