The board of directors of the Lewis & Clark Regional Water System meets today to decide what to do with the bid for their water treatment plant.
Bids came back about 35 million dollars over the estimate for the plant, which will be built north of Vermillion.
Lewis & Clark Executive Director Troy Larson says their engineers have advised them to push things back
Larson says they simply can’t pay for the water plant as its is currently bid.
Larson says they still think they can re bid the plant, and keep the project on schedule.
The nearly 500 million dollar project will supply water to towns in South Dakota, Iowa and Minnesota.
