Lake County Unemployment Rate Increases

Lake County's unemployment rate continues to rise, with the South Dakota Department of Labor now reporting 7.7% of the available labor force as unemployed.
That number is up from 6.9% in May and is the highest unemployment rate noted this year.
Lake County's labor force is 6,855, which is down from the 7,000 in May. Unemployment was 480 in May and is now 525.
Unemployment in Miner County is down by 1% to 6.3%. Moody County's unemployment was 5.4% in May and is now up to 7.4%.
