Madison Guard Unit Prepairs for Activation

The 211th Engineer Company Sapper Unit of Madison continues to prepare for activation in September for later deployment in Afghanistan.

Captain Heath Abraham says the unit will mobilize on September 18th, activate on September 19th and travel by bus to Fort McCoy Wisconsin on September 20th for about 45 days before Flying to Kuwait and Afghanistan.

The unit will be working to clear roads or other areas of mines.

Abraham says the unit will fly to Kuwait about November first or second.
