Madison Scouts Collect Food and Eyeglasses
Posted on Friday, October 26, 2007
Madison Cub Scouts 5 and 255 will be collecting non-perishable food items and used eyeglasses tomorrow as a part of their 2007 Scouting for Food and Sight Drive. The 19th drive involves over 34-hundred youth in the eastern portion of South Dakota. Southwest Minnesota, and northwest Iowa.
Cub Scout Parent Volunteer Bob Gale says those 35-hundred helped to collect a significant amount of food last year.
Gale says the scouts will be around the community on tomorrow collecting bags of food and eyeglasses. The eyeglasses will go to the Lions Club who will clean them up and distribute them to those in need.
Last year 33-hundred pairs of eyeglasses were distributed to needy citizens around the world.
