Unemployment Rate In Lake County Drops

Less people are looking for work in Lake County. The unemployment rate for July fell to 6.2%, that's down significantly from June's 7.6%. The rate in June was a two-year high.

The report from the department of Labor is certainly welcome news for the area, but it's not necessarily all good news. While the number of unemployed persons in the County fell by 110 in July, the number of those people actually working in the County also fell, by about 15. The total labor force in Lake County fell by 125 to 6,785. That was the lowest number since March.

Much of the change in numbers may be because of seasonal employment.
