Fundraiser in Chester for WW II Veteran's Honor Flight

An area High School is looking to give World War II veterans a chance to visit the World War II Memorial. Chester Area High School will be hosting a fundraiser during its home football game Friday night to benefit the Honor Flight program.
According to Chester High School principal Mike Reinhiller, the idea started when Chester residents Mike and Lisa Neumann volunteered with Honor Flight.
The Neumanns will sell baseball caps and lanyards during the football game against the Howard Tigers. Reinhiller says they hope to defray the costs for three to five veterans to fly to Washington DC to visit the World War II memorial. Currently, it costs $750.00 to send one veteran on an Honor Flight.
In addition to Friday's sales, Reinhiller says elementary and high schools are involved in a Penny War to raise additional funds.
The school is also taking free-will donations at the game. For more details or to contribute, call the Chester School District at 605-489-2411.
