Jubilee to Change to Sunshine Foods

Jubilee Foods in Madison will soon be known as Sunshine Foods. Owner Dan Roemen says when their wholesale food vendor Flemming Foods went bankrupt in 2003, Flemming got broken up and bought out by other wholesalers. Supervalu then bought the Jubilee name. Roemen says when it was all said and done he had a contract with Jubilee to keep the name for so long, but that has since expired.

Roemen says he is already an active partner in the Sunshine Foods company. He says on January 1st the official name change will take place, and gradually the Madison location will incorporate the Sunshine Foods products into the store.

Roemen says being incorporated with 12 other local stores will allow them to increase their buying power and utilize ad dollars better.

The ownership isn’t changing though, Dan and Renee along with all of the other managers and staffers will still be there.
