Lake County Recognizes Disabled Workers and Employers

In an effort to draw attention to the value of employees who have disabilities, Lake County celebrated national Disability Employment Awareness month by recognizing employees and employers.

Corlynn Thomas, Maurice Conn, Jr, and Nick Rumbolz are all Lake County workers who were recognized.

Walgreen's Deb Russel, a corporate manager for the company was the guest speaker. Walgreen's actively seeks employees with disabilities and she says it has had a positive effect on the work sites. Russel says Walgreen's plans to have at least 10 percent of their distribution center workforce be people with disabilities by the end of next year.
