School Board Welcomes Tom Farrell

When Dennis Hegg moved outside of the Madison Central School District, a position opened up on the school board. Corey Heidelberger and Tom Farrell applied for the open position, and were interviewed at a special meeting on Monday.

Tom Farrell, a recently retired Dakota State University professor, was selected as the newest member of the Madison School Board. He previously instructed courses on business and information systems at Dakota State from 1985 to 2009. He previously taught physical education at the university from 1970 to 1985.

Board members Paul Weist, Steve Nelson and Mark Hawkes and board president Jay Niedert approved Farrell's appointment. Board members Michelle Tucek and Tammy Jo Zingmark were not present.
