Madison Pool Progresses as Planned

The Madison City Commissioners discussed issues surrounding the new pool to be built in time for the summer of 2009. At last evening’s meeting, the commission agreed to hire Banner Engineering as the architects. Their pay will be based on standard hourly rates not to exceed 8-percent of construction costs. Bid letting is slated to take place this winter, with construction scheduled to begin in the spring. An ordinance was also passed allowing the city to sell the bonds to pay for the project.

Other items addressed at the meeting include the first reading on ordinances to amend the speed limit on North 15th street from 20 to 40 miles per hour and on Second street from 30 miles per hour to 40 miles per hour.

The next regularly scheduled meeting for Madison Commissioners will be on Monday, November 5th at 5:30 PM.
